5 Ways to Get Your Garden Summer-Ready

Summer is just around the corner! As we all look forward to the warm days ahead, it’s the perfect time to get our gardens ready for outdoor living. Get inspired by these garden elements and quick updates that are sure to refresh and add to the enjoyment of outdoor entertaining and summer relaxation.

1. New summer blooms

New flowers always bring a fresh look to a spring and summer garden! Pick out a new set of annuals and perennials to plant in your garden and add instant summer blooms to your outdoor space. Fill your planters with new color or add visual interest by planting along walkways and filling your flower beds to enhance your garden design. You can hang flower baskets to add dimension to your space and create more opportunities for summer blooms!

2. Add classic design elements

Garden elements including statuary, planters, urns, and sundials are great additions to an outdoor space that help to add character and a touch of personalization in the landscape. While larger elements such as large statuary require a longer timeline for production and installation, smaller items typically don’t require as much planning and can be added to your garden with ease.

If you are looking to add a special touch to your summer garden this summer, take a look at our available Quick Ship items for a selection of small statuary, sundials, urns, benches, and outdoor furniture pieces.

3. Incorporate water features
Additionally, fountains and birdbaths are a great way to enhance the natural landscape in an outdoor space while still creating visual interest and adding character to the garden. Fountains add an elegance to an outdoor space thanks to their classical aesthetic while creating a sense of tranquility with the soothing sounds of gently flowing water. Meanwhile, birdbaths are a wonderful option to create the same effect of adding a natural water element in a smaller garden or tucked away nook - and it's a welcoming invitation for birds to chirp away and enjoy fresh water during their visit to the garden!

4. Set-up outdoor furniture

Once your garden is planted and ready to bloom, it’s time to make sure you can enjoy your outdoor space with the utmost comfort! Dust off your outdoor furniture and get it set up for summertime enjoyment. If you don’t already have a designated seating area, consider adding a small table and chairs to enjoy your morning coffee, or a nook with a comfortable lounge chair where you can sit back and relax during summer evenings.

5. Add bold pops of color

And finally - don’t be afraid to add pops of color to your outdoor space! Summer is all about vibrant colors and bold patterns, so don’t be afraid to try something new whether it’s a bright new set of cushions or a colorful outdoor rug. If you enjoy entertaining in the evenings, make sure to add a set of string lights or even a firepit to create a welcoming and cozy environment for summer nights.
