Project Spotlight: Elegant Outdoor Design in Connecticut

Our Kenneth Lynch and Sons team is proud to work with homeowners and designers to create beautiful outdoor spaces of their dreams. Our company has three generations (and almost 100 years!) of expertise in craftsmanship for all types of garden and outdoor living elements, from fountains to statuary, sundials, benches, outdoor furniture, and more. Every piece in our collection is beautifully handcrafted and finished in-house by our skilled craftsmen.

In a recent project in Ridgefield, Connecticut, our team loved working with the homeowner to create an elegant escape at their beautiful home. The project included a custom wall fountain and a set of dining and lounging furniture overlooking the pool. Take a look at the finished result of this elegant outdoor living space.

Custom Wall Fountain
The homeowner had a vision for an elegant wall fountain in the center of a dual staircase that leads to the outdoor pool area. Some of our most classic fountains include a scalloped bowl that allows for a calm flow of water to the fountain basin. 

Our team worked with Craig Studer of Studer Design Associates to create a design that includes an ornate rosette in the center with a stream of water that cascades directly into the scalloped bowl below, before gently overflowing into the main basin on ground level. On either side of the main rosette are two smaller rosettes of the same style that have a stream of water flowing directly into the main basin. 

Our team assisted with designing the size and shape of the basin to ensure the flow of water would be contained without excessive splashing. The area behind the fountain also allowed for the plumbing to be easily hidden while still being accessible.

Custom Dining & Lounge Areas
Our team also worked with the homeowner on sets of outdoor furniture pieces for the pool area, including glass top table, chairs, chaise lounges, and side tables. The homeowner envisioned a table that would seat four people with the flexibility for additional seating as needed. They chose a classic glass top with a round table frame, a new design that was just recently added to our collection. This table design was inspired by an iron table design from our 1966 catalog. This table frame allows for a larger glass or stone top to rest on the frame surface, while still creating flexibility in adding extra chairs that fit around the tabletop.

In order to have extra seating space easily available, our team came up with a unique solution to create a casual seating area by the pool that consisted of two additional chairs and matching side tables. The matching side tables can also double as ottomans, creating even more seating options available as needed. And conveniently, the Lattice Back Chairs are also stackable for off-season storage.

The rest of the pool area also features our Chaise Lounges with an adjustable back. To beautifully match the custom wall fountain, the homeowner chose a classic rosette along the chaise base and a set of neutral beige cushions with white piping.

Our team was thrilled to work with the homeowner to bring this unique vision to life. The client reports the patio is his favorite place to have morning coffee and read the news!
