A Guide to Garden Statuary: Styles for Every Outdoor Space
Garden statuary is a timeless way to enhance natural beauty, create focal points, and express personal style in outdoor spaces. For nearly a century, Kenneth Lynch & Sons has been crafting exceptional garden ornaments that transform gardens of all sizes into inviting and elevated settings for outdoor living.
We invite you to explore the various types of statuary from our Estate Elements collection and find inspiration in how these extraordinary garden focal points can beautify your outdoor space.
Classical Statuary
One of the most traditional forms of garden statuary is classical sculptures that draw inspiration from Greek and Roman traditions. Our founder, Kenneth Lynch, was an admirer of classic Italian architecture, sculpture, and ornamentation. He toured Europe in the 1950s to find inspiration for his collection of garden elements.
The classical sculptures in our collection today range from small cherubs to large human-size pieces. The design of the human form statuary like the Classical Four Seasons Statues includes exquisite details in the draped gowns, detailed bouquets, and finely sculpted faces. The molds for these sculptures were created from original stone carvings purchased by Kenneth Lynch in 1964.
Some of our most popular classical sculptures are La Brezza, Girl with Shawl, Piping Boy, and Dancing Girl, among others. Whether placed as a focal point in a central location, at the end of a pathway, or nestled among the natural edges of an outdoor space, human form statues add elegance and personality while creating a welcoming ambiance.

Animal Statuary
Animal statuary is another charming way to create an inviting atmosphere in outdoor spaces. From majestic lions guarding an entryway to playful rabbits tucked among flower beds, animal sculptures bring a dynamic and lively element to garden landscapes.
Our Estate Elements collection offers a selection of large animals such as the Sleeping Lion or Whimsical Elephant as well as smaller sculptures of fish, rabbits, turtles, and other garden creatures. Whereas large animals like the Standing Lion or Seated Hound Dog will often be displayed prominently as focal points, smaller garden animals that are delicately tucked along walking paths and flower beds are a lovely way to create a connection between the cultivated garden and elements of the natural world.

Fountain Figures
One of the ways we offer customization for our garden elements is by incorporating statuary into fountains of different sizes and styles. We are able to combine the sculptural elegance of statuary with the soothing movement of flowing water, enhancing both visual appeal and ambiance.
Both our human form and animal figures are available as focal points for classical tiered fountains and wall fountains. The addition of water not only enriches the visual experience of the statue, but also creates a dynamic and inviting setting for guests to enjoy.

Beautiful & Durable
One of the reasons that statuary is a favorite garden element for many is that it requires little to no maintenance. All the figures in our Estate Elements collection are made of natural lead or cast stone, allowing them to withstand all climates and temperatures year-round while maintaining their structural integrity for generations to come.
Whether you're creating a new garden or enhancing an established space, our team of experts can help you select the perfect statuary for your design vision.
We hope you enjoyed exploring the many statuary styles in our collection!
