Our beloved La Brezza statue is also known as "The Good Fairy". The sculptor Josephine Kern was commissioned in 1916 by Mrs.Jessie McCutcheon Raleigh, the owner of a toy company in post World War Chicago, IL. Mrs. Raleigh commissioned the piece to be "a good fairy that shall be all grace and innocence and sunshine, that shall smile back into the sad hearts of the old world, that shall spur people on to their best, and in that way bring them good luck." We believe this all has been captured in the lovely girl. Our statue was most likely a reproduction by another artist as the original was only a statuette at 12" tall. The inclusion of our piped pedestal transforms this statue into a fountain.
