Sundial customization

The design for this sundial was only a sketch in our catalog for years. We finally had a customer appreciate the design so much that we moved forward with pattern making.  This customer also wanted to place the sundial on an  existing limestone pedestal but the pedestal already had holes drilled in the top which they wanted to cover.  We selected another flat sundial to use below the armillary.  There was one final change: the new sundial design did not fit on the flat sundial all that well, so we made another modification to make it all work seamlessly. Notice how the legs of the sundial are now on top of the disk like feet rather than butting against them.
