One of the many variations of the 1939 World's Fair bench includes this single pedestal leg design.  This bench requires anchoring to a concrete footing.  Alternately a below grade anchoring system can be suppled. The below grade anchor is particularly useful for areas where pavers, safety surfacing or asphalt are the final finish. The most common placement of this style bench is next to a game table, the single support legs with no arm makes access to the table area very easy.
