Dover Stone Church Sundial

The natural feature of the Dover Stone Church, Dutchess County, NY, is replicated in this custom sundial. The 36” diameter sundial is also a memorial. The client considered several options of how to create the stone church, such as a single line outline, a hand sculpted relief and as shown the solid area. Based on the use of the piece and the budget the solid area was selected. We created a gnomon with the correct angle to correctly tell the time.
