The backless Hoof Bench was first introduced in New York during the revitalization of Washington Square Park. The entire iron portion of this bench is one piece, meaning that the arms are integral with the leg, therefore an armless version is not available. The bench is characterized by the cast arms which are supported by ¾" round bars and the legs are finished off by a 'hoof' like foot. The seat is contoured for user comfort from either direction. There is a unique hub joining the parts together and providing a place for the spreader bar to anchor. The standard unit of this bench includes a pin protruding from the center of each foot which is to be set into a drilled hole in the pavement with anchoring cement. Modification for surface mounting with a standard wedge type anchor bolt is available upon request.
